February 29, 2008 : A.D. Update Have no fear - the boys are working hard to finish up their new album A.D., going in and out of Mad Oak Studios like the place is giving away free beer. The amount of time they're taking will be well worth it in the end, as what they're producing is by far their most face-melting stuff yet. With songs like "From Below", "The Immortal, The Dead and The Nothing" and "Six-Year Trainwreck", this album is simply going to kill anyone who tires to ignore it! Meanwhile, The Black Black is still leaving its unholy mark on the land - voted one of BeatBots.com's 2007 Albums of the Year (check that out here) and getting an utterly stellar review in this month's issue of Unrestrained! Magazine (which you can check out on our fancy new In-Print Press Page). We're also currently working on a new video for "Khan (World of Fire)", so expect that very soon. And, in website news, you'll notice a few new things here and there - most notably pics of the boys in London which are killer!! Also, some new additions to The Arsenal and some pics unearthed from a show the boys played at the old Delancey in NYC last March. |

2007 Recap: A Message From Justin 2007 was by far the best and most productive year this band has seen...and no one got Cancer. First and foremost, we are proud to announce that Solace is now a member of the Small Stone family. Scott and the guys are pure Rock connoisseurs and we feel right at home with them. They put us up at Mad Oak Studios were we made leaps and bounds toward the long-awaited A.D. There's no doubt that this will be the most crushing album Solace has ever released and Small Stone fits the bill perfectly. The year began with the release of the monstrous Black Black album. Described as "an ugly, aggressive, and unique blend of rock, doom, and metal" by John Pegoraro of stonerrock.com, it's 33 minutes of beautiful destruction. This release was followed by our extensive European tours, first with Orange Goblin & then with Italy's Doomraiser where we made many new friends, raised many a pint and crushed many a skull. What I can remember, you can read in my Tour Diary. The buzz kept building and building and we put our stamp on the end of the year by triumphantly returning to London to play with Orange Goblin at their annual Christmas Show. We were thrilled to play to the packed Islington Academy and even more thrilled to be joined onstage by Mr. Ed Fucking Mundell! Check out the video! Pics to come. We owe the success of 2007 to so many. We wish to extend our thanks and gratitude to: Orange Goblin (Ben, Joe, Martyn and Chris - here's to you brothers), Doomraiser, Ed Mundell, our girlfriends and families (a.k.a. the people who pay our bills), JJ Koczan, Grant and Carlton from Underdogma, Ben and Riggs from Mad Oak Studios, Jesse and Griff from Land o' Smiles, Marzia and Sabotage Productions, Johnny Arz and stonerrock.com, all our friends, fans and supporters, all the bands, promoters and flight attendants who gave us beer, shook our hands, gave us floors to sleep on and joined us in our quest to take over the world. 2008 promises to be The Year of Solace. With the release of A.D. slated for the Spring and talks of both west coast and more European touring, we hope everyone gets a chance to fall beneath the onslaught that is Solace. Thanks and cheers, Justin |

October 15, 2007: The Black Black + Studio Update The boys' critically-acclaimed new album The Black Black is finally up for sale on the Merch page in CD DigiPak form, along with a bunch of other shit you should buy. In other news, next month the band is slated to hit up Mad Oak Studios in Boston to work on finishing the long-awaited A.D. Pretty exciting in my opinion!! |

October 7, 2007: New Video for World War! So, we finished off the new video for The Black Black's "World War" last night and uploaded it to YouTube. This evening, we find that it has already hit # Thanks to all the Solace MySpace friends (almost 10k of you fuckers now) and to the French website that gave us "4 clicks"! If you haven't seen the awesomely surreal new vid, check it out HERE, or click the thumbnail at right! |

September 29, 2007: Shows and Shit A few worthwhile pics from the 9/15 show at the East End Cafe are up now in the Image gallery, in addition to the rest of this month's decent Brighton photos. A few drunken cell-phone shots from that evening were donated to the cause by special guest from across the pond - Sibbo! While you're checking that out, grab a pen and mark your calendars: on 10/27 the boys will be in MD at the Cleavage of Doom, and 11/ 9 will see them in NYC for some old fashioned face-melting metal! |

September 2, 2007: New Pics & Revampin' Just spent an hour or 7 revamping the Image galleries. Still needs work but the layout is now more appealing and I uploaded some new pics. Be on the lookout for more avant garde crap from last night's Brighton show in the next day or 2. I invite anyone who has pics they'd like to share to send them along via email. Include the venue and date as well as how you'd like to be credited! |

August 27, 2007: Periodicals Check out October's Metal Maniacs as well as June's Terrorizer for some pics and reviews of everyone's favorite alcoholics. Also, keep your eyes peeled for December's Metal Maniacs, as the boys will be getting another write-up in that month's issue. "Clearly lifer scuzzbuckets to a man, this shower of fuck-ups have a filthy kick to their riffage." - Jim Martin, Terrorizer |
